Denver-based Jane Earle is founder and owner of Mt. Mariah Publishing, a media advising and management firm in the business of writing, editing and publishing in the spirit of true journalism.
In her career, Earle served as manager/community relations for the Denver Board of Water Commissioners for a decade in which the utility faced the two greatest disasters in its history, the Hayman Fire (burning 8,500 acres of watershed) and the catastrophic drought of 2002. She was editor and publisher of The Denver Magazine, covered the Federal and State Courts as a reporter for the The Denver Post Newspaper and redesigned the editorial content of Frontier Airline’s in-flight magazine, editing the award-winning Summerscapes, the event directory included in every seat pocket on the international airline.
Earle has written for The New York Times, Ms. Magazine, Colorado Woman and Colorado Business, among others. She was named the Editorial Director for KMGH-TV, a CBS Affiliate, prior to becoming the Deputy Campaign Manager/Media for the Coloradans for Lamm campaign. In 1993, she was appointed as Managing Editor of The Moscow Tribune in Moscow Russia, lecturing at Moscow State University’s Department of Foreign Journalism. A lecturer also at Cornell University for the Department of Communication and at Metropolitan State College in Denver Colorado’s Department of Journalism, her published papers have focused on politics to higher education.
Honored as Women In Communication’s Woman of Achievement and the recipient of the Merrill Presidential Scholars’ Outstanding Educator Award at Cornell, Earle earned her Master of Public Administration degree at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Metropolitan State College. A board member of multiple organizations including Colorado Preservation Inc., Denver Woman’s Press Club, Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum, Denver Press Club and President of Big Sisters of Colorado, Earle’s unwavering pledge to preserving the ethical purpose and function of the Fourth Estate is unmatched.
That mission continues in Jane’s Report online.
